AQUALINE ULTRA FILTRATION SYSTEMS

Aqualine ultrafiltration units are the main filtration process. UF uses membranes with a pore size of 0.01 microns and this acts as a barrier to bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms without the use of chemicals.

Aqualine ultrafiltration units are mainly a filtration process. UF uses membranes with a pore size of 0.01 microns and this acts as a barrier to bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms without the use of chemicals. Any particle larger than 0.01 microns will be removed and the turbidity can be reduced to below 0.1 NTU.
Chlorine is the best known method for removing microbiological contamination from water and is effective, though not 100%, especially for spore-forming organisms such as Cryptosporidia. Such organisms can withstand chlorine treatment but are removed by UF. In addition, the organic compounds in the water can react with chlorine to form DBP (product disinfectant), which can itself be toxic. UF does not add anything to the water and does not produce unwanted chemicals in the water.

UF modules are perfect for surface water filtration, seawater pretreatment before RO desalination, recycled wastewater treatment and can replace conventional and biological water treatment for RO systems.
In addition, UF systems are used successfully for seawater treatment, the food and beverage industry, natural drinking water factories, indirect bacterial removal and water disinfection, and many special projects. It is a key part of systems with a special design for wastewater recycling and the MBR water-based recycling process.
