Reverse osmosis is the process of filtering with a membrane to obtain pure water, which separates all unwanted minerals from the water applied in waters in which conventional purification systems are insufficient (sea water, high conductivity water, wells, etc.). This process continues until osmotic equilibrium is reached. Reverse osmosis is the reversal of this osmotic flow.
