The Ultrafiltration Capillary Membrane is the latest generation mechanical filter. It is made of thin, hollow fibers placed in a special housing. The size of the tubules in the fibers decreases from the outside to the inside. Larger particles are retained at the beginning of the fiber, and smaller ones inside. The membrane openings are 0.02 microns in size. This allows the retention of 99.8% of bacteria, spores, fungi and viruses.
Ultrafiltration (UF) of water is a method of purification with an ultrafiltration membrane, also called a capillary membrane. In addition to bacteria and solids, ultrafiltration also removes viruses. Ultrafiltration membranes do not remove minerals from the water. Ultrafiltration membrane technology uses super efficient, asymmetric hollow fiber membranes. These membranes have a high affinity for water due to a unique mixture of polymer and mineral components and need only normal drinking water pressure to control the filtration process. The ultrafiltration membrane in the filter cartridges contains a patented technology that will successfully remove 99.99999% of bacteria even at high flow rates.
Capillary (hollow fibers) membranes have the following properties:
Permanently hydrophilic with inert surface characteristics, preventing the adsorption of particles on the surface, which facilitates cleaning.
The membranes of the microfilters were tested and met the requirements of ASTM F838-05 for microfiltration, which effectively demonstrated the reduction of> 99.99999% of (> log 7) bacteria in the water passing through the filter.
The efficiency of the ultrafiltration membrane is not compromised by common substances present in some waters (eg hydrogen sulfide, natural organic material and generally dissolved solids). copper-silver ions and monochloramine, which may be part of the tap water.
The process of running water from the outside to the inside of the filter and filtered particles trapped in the wall of the porous membrane is called "dead end filtration". When the flow rate drops to an unacceptable level, the filter must be replaced. "Back filtering" is mainly used with microfiltration membranes. Bacteria are trapped in the hollow fiber membrane, allowing clean and filtered water to flow.

APPLICATION:
Purification of drinking water. The UF-10D capillary membrane is compatible with most 10-inch drinking water purification systems and filter columns.
3 degrees of water filtration from the capillary membrane: surface filtration initial deep filtration final filtration - removal of impurities larger than 0.02 microns.
The membrane filters 100% of the water - does not discharge water into the sewer, does not demineralize the water.
Removes
bacteria (> 99.99999%) such as E-Coil, Salmonella, Legionella;
viruses (> 99.99999%) such as Norwalk, Hepatits, Polio;
turbidity, polluted water with high turbidity;
cysts such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium;
taste and smell such as chlorine and other unpleasant tastes;
insoluble particles larger than 0.02 microns;
salts and important minerals and microelements PASS through the membrane ;
very good filtration with low pressure drop;
cartridge life - from 6-12 months - up to 12,000 liters (depending on the quality of the passing water);
flow 10l / min.
